The documentary called “Macchia Madre” has been created to speak about the marble in the city of the marble par excellence: Carrara.
It deals with the present contest of this big resource and it explains what the marble is and why the beautiful Apuane Alps, rich of marble, represent from time the birthplace of the precious white stone deeply loved from sculptor and industries.
The city of Carrara detains an invaluable worth, because it proves the history and the culture of a nation deeply linked to the marble of its mountains.
“Macchia Madre” reflects upon the nodal problem of mining, it speaks about the conservation of the Apuane Alps and about the mining heritage as a Nature wealth that risks the extinction because of an industrial abuse that changes constantly the geological structure of the summits, milled to product calcium carbonate.
